There are parts of us below our awareness that drive how we think, feel and what we do. These parts are akin to computer programs that determine how we function and execute decisions.

The result of these subconscious programs is that we seem to attract certain situations, opportunities & people to ourselves. Life seems to happen to us. In actuality, we are creating all of what happens.

Swiss Psychologist Carl Jung once said,

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.”
Carl Jung

These subconscious programs are not an elusive mystical power that we have no control over. Rather, they consist of our core beliefs, our values and all the conditioning that society, culture and our upbringing have instilled in us.

The issue arises when these programs no longer work for us and continue to lead us in circles or down a path while causing more harm than good.

So how do you become conscious of your subconscious?

The first step is through practicing self-awareness/mindfulness. Start by learning to listen as opposed to running away from yourself. Be comfortable with discomfort. Once you can manage this comfortably, you will be ready to go further.

Ask yourself today, “What aspect of my subconscious needs to be brought to the surface?”

Sometimes a little guidance can go a long way. If this is an area of your life you find you are needing help with, give us a call today.

In Health & Gratitude,

Fall/Autumn is one of the more noticeable periods of change in nature. Leaves turn a majestic range of colours and fall within a matter of weeks. With the gradual passing of Fall as we transition to Winter, the now bare foliage is a stark contrast to what once was a few weeks ago.

Fall is a perfect example of transience. The fleeting nature of life. Here we can draw a parallel to the illusion of permanence which lies at the core of most of our suffering. We hold onto things hoping they will never change or will last forever. Our beliefs, relationships, health, roles in life, material possessions hardly escape the grasp of our attachments.

Nature doesn’t hold onto what once was. It offers us the beautiful foliage for a time then transitions to the next phase. If trees held onto their Fall leaves the tree would eventually die.

When we hold onto change, we go against the flow and life becomes that much harder as we create a lot of unnecessary suffering within ourselves. Learning how to live and flow with the transience and fleeting nature of everything in life, is a path that will truly invite greater happiness, inner peace & fulfillment into our life.

Subconscious belief systems drive our thoughts, emotions and actions hence influencing our attachments to things in life.

What changes are you resisting or refusing to let go of?

In Health & Gratitude,

An example of a subconscious block is one who has difficulty losing weight because subconsciously, maintaining the weight serves as a form of protection.

Or one who keeps getting into the same cycle of meeting the ‘wrong’ person where the subconscious belief is, love to me is when I feel these intense highs and lows.

Through clinical hypnotherapy, we peel back the layers of the onion to uncover what’s holding us back from healing or progressing in life. Then with the newfound awareness, new ways of thinking, doing and being are instilled progressively.

The aim of hypnotherapy is not to fall asleep. Neither will you be under the control of the therapist. In fact, you will be fully engaged during the session through verbal communication yet in a deep relaxed state.

Our clinical hypnotherapy sessions are carried out using headphones and are spoken through a microphone with light music for an enhanced therapeutic effect.

Curious about a session? Or know someone who could benefit? Contact Us to book your session or schedule your own appointment online!

A conscious life denotes living with awareness & mindfulness.

This can be:

1) Pausing while you eat to appreciate where your food comes from. Do you know where your food is grown? Who are the farmers? Are the animals treated humanely?

2) Being aware of your thoughts and how they are affecting your emotions and thus your resulting words or actions. Are you conscious of what ‘triggers’ you or do you react without knowing why?

3) When applied to relationships, being able to communicate openly and truthfully while acknowledging the other person’s needs and your own. Or do you shut down when things don’t proceed your way?

4) When life gets you down, do you stay present and dig a little deeper or do you resort to distractions and sweep things under the rug?

5) Thinking about where the other person is coming from before replying or placing judgement. Do you know their history and what they’re going through?

6) Thinking about what else the world needs. What does humanity need from you today?

These are just but a few examples of living a conscious life. How do you live your life consciously?

Know someone who could benefit from this post? Please spread the word and keep the ripple going.
